Interbiblio accepts new libraries as active members. The admission conditions are described in the Regulations.

 

Interbiblio is always willing to share information and advice to interested groups or individuals wishing to establish an intercultural library as well as to community or city libraries who wish to expand their intercultural departments.

 

Services for active members:

  • Annual workshop for continuing education of all library staff
  • Promoting the further education of library staff
  • Twice-yearly meeting of library delegates in a member library or a related institution. At the meetings, projects are presented and new issues and concerns are discussed
  • A newsletter issued six times a year with information on intercultural library work: media recommendations, reference sources, events, projects, further education, references to research results.
  • Access to the Members-only area on the Interbiblio website, which includes a detailed reference source list and various useful documents and work guidelines.
  • Public relations: presentation of the activities and projects of the member libraries on the website, lectures, workshops and courses as well as articles for professional journals
  • Representation of members’ interests to the national authorities and at national and international meetings
