The intercultural libraries have always been committed to providing access to literature for asylum seekers and refugees, as well as making available suitable books and materials for them.

Some libraries also cooperate with asylum centres.
For example, the intercultural library in Geneva has provided several asylum centres with books and magazines in various languages including French. In the «Wanderbibliothek», which consists of several boxes of books, the asylum-seekers can borrow books in an uncomplicated way and return them at the next visit. In centres where many families live, the CIC regularly organizes fairy tales with «Zvieri» (4 o’clock snack).

The intercultural library in Lucerne organizes regular walks and afternoons for asylum seekers in cooperation with nearby asylum centres.
